Plot: On a normal college campus in modern-day America, ideas that have long been neglected as "issues of the past" emerge as racial tensions and frictions grow between different student groups. Full summary » | »
Story: Four educated students drag a younger black man to the woods through a warm, humid night. They tug his bruised body through the dirt until they reach an oak tree with a high branch. They throw up a noose. They lynch him. One student jeers as the black man struggles. Another laughs and pretends to choke as the man's legs give way. He stops struggling, then suffocates, and his body sways limp. The four students leave as simply as they came. It is October 2008, and America is on the brink of what was called "the most influential elections of all time." On a college campus, the depths of racism in modern-day society are revealed. "Boiling Pot" shows racism unfolding through different characters of various backgrounds and perspectives. The white, the black, and the Arab American narratives are told in an intertwined dramatic thriller. Every character has perfections, and each character is flawed.
