I agree with the previous critic in that opinion which states it is notan original storytelling movie. However, I always question thelegitimacy of classical storytelling movies. It is a mainstreamtradition, but if there were only mainstream movies, Earth and filmculture would be a very boring place.

Luckily, this Slovak film follows the modernist tradition, and tellsits story objectively in semi-documentary/minimalist style. It is abouta very important theme, which is not a new one, but sadly a permanentone. We can say that it is the 'Slovakian History X'. Racism andNeo-Nazism have several forms. This film shows us a very unique one.There are no real villains or good people. There are only victims of anideology. However, the only innocent entity is the title character, thedog. Every single person is guilty somehow. The mother because of heraffair which deformed their elder son's life. Of course, the racistskinheads who hate the Roma people. And the gypsies, because several ofthem cannot live their life according to the norms and laws. But thefilm doesn't give penalty to anyone. It stays at the objectiveperspective.

So, this is a very serious movie, which does not tell its storydramatically as mainstream conventional films, but it follows the RomanNew Wave's realist style. And the My Dog Killer is brutal, however itdoes not show any violent scenes or blood. The facts and the knowledge,the little information puzzles meet at the end of the movie, which issame as the beginning: the dog plays with its trophy as nothing hashappened. But in us, everything have changed.

It's a pointless film about useless people. If the director wanted toprove something here she could at least make up the plot but there isnone. She just lets the bad guy do a bad thing without any logicalstorytelling.

The Nazi boxer (about 20 years old) is walking around some little townwhich is full of angry Slovaks and angel looking Gypsies. The distancebetween them is so huge that even in the WW2 films we never saw suchhate between some locals and Jews or Gypsies. But why the Slovaks arebig haters of Gypsies the director doesn't answer, it's just the way itgoes or probably because the director doesn't have a talent to show itand explain in some poetic metaphoric way.

In the 60-s there were so many good Slovak movies, but this one istotally the opposite. Save your time, don't Streaming this crappy award"filmmaking".
